European Athletics Championships 2010 / Participant (Switzerland)

The following Swiss athletes took part in the 2010 European Athletics Championships (July 27th to August 1st in Barcelona ).

The team consisted of twelve men and ten women. The result was a medal: Viktor Röthlin won gold in the marathon . It was the first gold medal at the European Athletics Championships since that of Werner Günthör in the shot put in 1986. In order for Switzerland finished in the medals table to 12th place. Further results among the top eight: The 4 x 100 meter relay took fourth place with a new Swiss record, Christian Belz took sixth place in the 10,000 meter run and Lisa Urech took seventh place in the 100 meter hurdles .
