Lena Strothmann b. as Magdalene Tacke (born December 20, 1952 in Münster ) is a former German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and grammar schools in Lippstadt and Soest , Lena Strothmann completed an apprenticeship as a dressmaker in Lippstadt from 1971 to 1973 and then studied fashion design in Munich , which she completed in 1977 with the master’s examination at the German Master School for Fashion in Munich . She then worked as a designer and trainer in the clothing industry in Gütersloh . She has been running an independent fashion studio in Gütersloh since 1983 and has been the managing director of Kleegräfe and Strothmann "Die Maßschneider" since 1993 . From 2002 to 2009 she was also a lecturer at the Fachhochschule des Mittelstands in Bielefeld .

Lena Strothmann is Roman Catholic , married and has one daughter.

Political party

In 1997 Lena Strothmann joined the CDU. Since 2001 she has been a member of the board of the district association Ostwestfalen-Lippe . From 2003 to 2011 she was a member of the state board of the CDU's medium - sized business association in North Rhine-Westphalia (MIT.NRW). Since 2005 she has also been deputy chairwoman of the CDU district association in Bielefeld.

From 1999 to 2003 Lena Strothmann was a member of the Gütersloh City Council.

MPs

On July 3, 2003, she replaced Paul Breuer , who had left the German Bundestag . Since then she has been a member of the CDU and CSU parliamentary group until she did not run again for the direct mandate of constituency 132 in 2017. During her group membership , she was a full member of the Committee on Economic Affairs and Energy and an alternate member of the Committee on European Union Affairs . Lena Strothmann was also a member of the board of directors of the small and medium-sized parliamentary group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group (PKM) and was chairwoman of the AG Handwerk, which she founded. She was the rapporteur for her group on craft, training, education and consumer protection. In 2014 she was elected to the parliamentary group executive committee.

Until 2009, Lena Strothmann was always drawn into the Bundestag via the state list of North Rhine-Westphalia . On September 27, 2009, she won the direct mandate of constituency 132 Bielefeld with 36.3% of the first votes . In the 2013 Bundestag election , she again entered the Bundestag via the North Rhine-Westphalian state list with a first vote result of 37.3%. Strothmann did not run again for the 2017 federal election.

Social offices

From 1998 to 2019 Lena Strothmann was President of the Chamber of Crafts Ostwestfalen-Lippe zu Bielefeld and has been a member of the SME Advisory Board at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy since 1999 . From 2002 to 2004 she was Deputy Chairwoman of the West German Chamber of Crafts . She has been a member of the Presidium of the Central Association of German Crafts ( ZDH ) since 2005, where she headed the European Planning Committee until 2014. In 2014 she became head of the Organization and Legal Affairs Committee. Since 2019 she has been Honorary President of the Chamber of Crafts OWL.
