geography
location
The double-row forest hoof village of Lenkersdorf lies at an altitude of 540 to 600 m in the basin of the source of the Hinterer Aubach, the course of which determines the winding system of the village. The hooves grip on the western side something about the Middle Aubach time. The state road 283 between Zwönitz and Hartenstein runs exactly along the former border between corridor Lenkersdorf and Niederzwönitz along. The Chemnitz – Aue – Adorf railway runs through the southern part of the Lenkersdorfer Flur ; the nearest train station is in Zwönitz, about 1.5 km away.

history
The village was first mentioned in 1312, when half of Nenkersdorf sita iuxta Leznicz reached the Grünhain monastery . The other half of the village with eight farmers belonged to the rule Hartenstein or later in the rule area of the Schönburger . Of the seven courtyards belonging to the monastery, five were west of the Aubach. The reason for the irregular distribution of domains is incomprehensible. The division persisted even after the secularization of the Grünhain monastery in the 16th century.
Initially, both domains were parish to Lößnitz , later parts of the population also went to church in Zwönitz. The village is currently part of the Trinitatiskirchgemeinde Zwönitz and the Johanniskirchgemeinde Niederzwönitz. In addition to agriculture, slate mining was of some importance. In and around Lenkersdorf there were four slate quarries in which roofing slate was broken. After the Second World War, the farmers of Lenkersdorf joined the LPG Thomas Müntzer in Zwönitz and the KAP Am Katzenstein .
It was incorporated into Zwönitz on April 1, 1952.
