Company history

Lennartsfors AB was created on January 1st, 2013 from the merger of the previous Lennersfors AB with the company Norsjö Moped AB .

Lennartsfors AB

Lennartsfors was named after Lennart Uggla, who founded an ironworks in 1839 in Ränken or later Ränkesed. The ironworks had a large production range with various products and among other things built boats. The factory closed in 1877. In 1886 a pulp mill was set up, which became one of the largest in Sweden. When exports stopped during World War II , the plant had no future. In 1947, AB Lennartsfors Mekaniska Verkstad was founded in the company .

Today the company manufactures woodworking machines and, since 2007, the mopeds of the former company Norsjö Moped AB .

Norsjö Mekaniska Verkstads AB

Manasse Larsson founded the company in Norsjö in 1951 , which built cargo mopeds. In 1955 the company moved to Forshaga . Production of the Shopper moped car began in 1959 and was discontinued in 1994. In 1964 the company had 35 employees and produced 50 mopeds a week. The company was later renamed Norsjö Moped AB . Since 2003 the company has been producing the Norsjö Carrier cargo moped with a four-stroke engine and an electric drive. The company supplies the electric version with a closed box body for PostNord Sverige, among other things .
