Leonhard Weber (theologian)

Leonhard Maria Weber (born February 12, 1912 in Belfaux , Canton of Friborg ; † December 16, 1969 in Munich ) was a Swiss Roman Catholic theologian and university professor. He taught from 1966 to 1969 as a full professor for pastoral theology and catechetics at the LMU Munich .

Life

Leonhard Maria Weber was born as the son of Johann Leonhard Weber and Maria Franziska Weber (née Kündig). After studying philosophy and theology at the theological faculty of the University of Friborg / Switzerland , he was ordained a priest in Solothurn in 1938 . From 1938 to 1940 he worked as a vicar in Basel. In 1943 he was promoted to Dr. theol. PhD. From 1943 to 1951 he worked as a religion teacher at the cantonal school and lecturer in moral theology at the seminary in Solothurn. 1951 took over the management there as Regens . At the same time he was a lecturer in medical ethics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Friborg. From 1966 until his death in 1969 he taught as a full professor for pastoral theology and catechetics at the LMU Munich .
