Leonie Wesselow
Leonie Wesselow (born April 7, 1998 in Buxtehude ) is a German actress and speaker.
Life
At the age of eight, Leonie Wesselow discovered her passion for acting and began taking acting, singing and dance lessons at the StageCoach Theater Arts . She completed a film workshop in Los Angeles, stunt workshops in Hamburg and learned the basics of musical performance at the Joop van den Ende Academy and the Stage School Hamburg , from which she received talent funding. In addition to regular school theater, she played at the Hamburg State Opera at the age of 13 .
At the age of 15 roles followed at the renowned Thalia Theater Hamburg, where she is still on stage today. Parallel to the theater, Wesselow gained her first filming experience at the age of 11 in the children's and youth series Das Haus Anubis for Nickelodeon.
At the age of 17 she got her first leading role in a movie and stood in front of the camera for the graduation film Back for Good (Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg) under the direction of Mia Spengler in 2015 while she was completing her Abitur.
Since then she has appeared in various cinema and television productions. Most recently, she took on a role in the maincast of the Netflix series How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast) , which later received a Grimme Prize in the 'Children & Youth' category. Her first English-language production was the short film Haunted Houses and a co-production in Chile followed in 2019.
