Leopoldsdorf is a cadastral municipality in the northern Waldviertel , which belongs to the municipality of Reingers in Austria . With 250 inhabitants, Leopoldsdorf is the largest village in the Reingers community and is located at about 600  m above sea level. A.

location

The place is about 2.5 km south of Reingers and is crossed by the L8179 and L8165 highways. It is about one and a half kilometers to the east to the border with the Czech Republic . The Romava desert is located on Czech territory .

history

In 1590/91 Leopoldsdorf counted 13 subordinate houses; In 1751 there were 14 subordinate houses. The place was part of the Litschau rule for many centuries.

Infrastructure

In Leopoldsdorf there are two inns, as well as a grocery store and a discotheque. In the middle of the village there is a pond with an area of ​​2.2 hectares. From June to September it is possible to catch carp, pike, pikeperch and tench there after purchasing an appropriate fishing license.

Clubs and events

• Every year a large Oktoberfest takes place in Leopoldsdorf, which makes the small village known throughout the region. It lasts three weeks and brings several 10,000 visitors to the place, who can then hear well-known entertainers (DJ Ötzi, Münchner Zwietracht etc.).
• On December 30th, the annual New Year's Eve Trail takes place around the pond . Entertainment and dining are offered here.
