history
Reingers with his aristocratic residence originally formed his own (knight) estate. In 1590/91 the place had 16 subordinate houses; the local authority lay with Hans Caspar Hauser and Melchior von Hubereckh zu Reitzenschlag. From the late 17th century, Reingers was part of the Litschau rule. In 1751 the place had 20 subordinate houses.
In the 16th century, there is talk of a glassworks in the Reingers area for the first time . In the second half of the 17th century there is again a glassworks in Reingers, which was apparently in operation until 1680/90.
There was a castle in the village until the 18th century, which had emerged from a medieval manor. This appeared in Georg Matthäus Vischer's "Topographia archiducatus Austriae Inferioris modernae" from 1672, engraved in copper. The castle in Reingers, a two- or three-storey building with two towers, also included a yard, a pond, a bridge with a wagon toll, an inn and a mill. In the course of the 18th century the castle fell into disrepair and was in ruins in 1787, which was finally demolished. The manorial Meierhof was dissolved between 1787 and 1790 and converted into twelve new farms; The inn and mill were sold.
