Großdietmanns is a market town with 2214 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Gmünd district in Lower Austria .
geography
Großdietmanns is located in the Lainsitz valley in the Waldviertel in Lower Austria. In the north, the community borders directly on Gmünd . The area of the market town covers 39.92 square kilometers. 25.6 percent of the area is forested.

The community consists of the cadastral communities Dietmanns, Ehrendorf, Eichberg, Höhenberg, Hörmanns , Reinpolz, Unterlembach and Wielands.

Population development
According to the results of the 2001 census , there were 2183 inhabitants. In 1991 the market town had 2166 inhabitants, in 1981 2214 and in 1971 2281 inhabitants.

Culture and sights
- Catholic parish church Dietmanns in Großdietmanns Hll. Fourteen helpers
- Catholic parish church Höhenberg hl. James the Elder: The church was built in the 13th century. It is essentially Romanesque , its choir is Gothic.
- The local chapels in Ehrendorf, Eichberg and Hörmanns date from the 18th century, the local chapels in Reinpolz, Unterlembach and Wielands from the 19th century.

In 2001 there were 37 non-agricultural workplaces, agricultural and forestry holdings according to the 1999 survey 176. The number of people in work at home was 996 according to the 2001 census. In 2001 the activity rate was 47.32 percent.
