The transport company LIECHTENSTEINmobil (short: LIEmobil , initials: VLM ) operates local public transport in Liechtenstein . The company has been the successor organization to the Liechtenstein Bus Anstalt (LBA for short) since January 1, 2012. The best-known LIEmobil product is the Liechtenstein bus , which describes Liechtenstein's bus transport. The company is based in Schaan .
LIEmobil is 80% financed by state subsidies, which in 2012 amounted to almost CHF 16 million . The remaining 20% is achieved through tariff income.
Liechtenstein bus
LIEmobil only plans the design of public transport in Liechtenstein. In various tenders, LIEmobil commissioned a total of five companies to carry out the order. The largest contractor is PostBus Liechtenstein Anstalt, a subsidiary of PostBus Switzerland .
history
Before 2000, the year in which the Liechtenstein Bus Anstalt ( LBA for short ) was founded with the aim of organizing public transport in Liechtenstein, the Post ensured the operation of local transport. At that time, two Postbus owners were commissioned by the Swiss Post to provide various vehicles and transport the passengers: Otto Frommelt Anstalt in Vaduz and Ivo Matt AG in Mauren. Up until this point in time, the buses had been painted in the well-known Postbus livery. After the founding of the LBA, it wrote out the services for the years 2001 to 2011, which included the transportation of passengers. The minimum requirements were that you had at least 49 vehicles and 60 drivers available. Of the two previous companies, none met the requirements. A total of 8 companies from all over the German-speaking region applied for the contract. The boards of directors of the LBA decided on PostBus Switzerland , which 95% fulfilled all criteria and was therefore the clear winner. A PostBus Switzerland office was opened especially for the service contract in Triesen. In addition, 18 new MAN NÜ 313 natural gas buses and one MAN NG 313 articulated bus were ordered. The new buses no longer ran in the Postbus colors, but in a green and yellow color. This is known colloquially as LIME . Only one of the former Postbus owners was able to benefit from the new structure, namely Ivo Matt AG . PostBus awarded the contract to this company, so that all buses also received the label Busbetrieb: Ivo Matt AG, Mauren , because the chauffeurs were employed by this company and vehicles belonged to Ivo Matt AG . Since the Otto Frommelt Anstalt was not interested in working with the PostBus, they ran out of space. The chauffeurs and some of the vehicles were handed over to Ivo Matt AG . Since then the Otto Frommelt Anstalt has only concentrated on travel. In addition, PostBus has accepted the order to offer the school buses. In addition to PostBus Switzerland, there were other companies that received rather smaller orders: The Philipp Schädler Anstalt was commissioned to use line 22 (Triesenberg - Gaflei). The Markus Jehle Anstalt was allowed to serve line 26 (Schaan - Planken).
From 2001 to 2011, PostBus, or the contractor Ivo Matt AG, had most of the route network in Liechtenstein in its hands. During this time, various new buses were purchased to replace the 30-year-old buses. Purchased MAN buses of the type Lion's City and Mercedes-Benz buses of the type Citaro .
In 2010 the LBA had to re-tender the contracts, as the contract with the respective contractor is only valid until 2011. The applicants include all companies that had to fulfill an order by this time. New is also applied Ivo Matt AG separately as PostBus Switzerland had announced to apply themselves and the drivers and buses that of with an extra Ivo Matt AG to take over included. As ten years ago, PostBus Switzerland received the largest contract and took over all drivers and buses from Ivo Matt AG . With the acceptance of the contract, the PostBus Liechtenstein Anstalt was founded in Liechtenstein, which replaced the regional center of the PostBus Liechtenstein . Again new buses were bought to replace the old MAN natural gas buses. PostBus Liechtenstein currently has a total of 39 vehicles. The contract runs until at least 2017, with an optional three further years. However, Ivo Matt AG did not go entirely empty-handed. It received the order to operate the Triesen local bus (line 40) and three of four night lines in Liechtenstein. Another night line is served by PostBus Liechtenstein . Lines 22 and 26 will continue to be served by the same companies, as decided in 2001. The new depot of PostBus Liechtenstein opened in April 2012 and is home to all of their buses.
With the timetable change at the end of 2013, not only the timetables but also the implementation of the orders advertised by LIEmobil changed. The LIEmobil the first time adopted a separate line, the line 26 On this occasion, one has a new to Hess bus bought, which is found only on this line. The Triesen local bus and the N2 night line, which were previously operated by Ivo Matt AG , have now been awarded to PostBus Liechtenstein .
