The Liinsand is a catamaran of the Watten Ferry Lines in Husum .

history

The catamaran was built under construction number 57 at the Loça Mühendislik shipyard in Tuzla , Turkey . It was completed on June 14, 2017.

The ship was put into service as a water taxi in the North Frisian Wadden Sea at the end of February 2018 . The service was discontinued in summer 2019. Since August 2019, the ship has been in service on the Elbe between Hamburg (Altona pier at Fischmarkt), Wedel ( Schulau pier ) and Stadersand. The ferry connection is not integrated into the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund .

The ship is named after a sandbank between Sylt and Föhr .

Technical data and equipment

The ship is equipped with a hybrid drive developed by Becker Marine Systems . Outside of the port is of two four-cycle - six-cylinder diesel engines the manufacturer Scania (type: 78M DI13) each with 405  kW power driven, which Reintjes -Hybridgetriebe on two fixed propeller act. In the ports, the drive is switched to electric drive. Two lithium-ion battery systems with 52.5 kWh each  are used for the electric drive .

The diesel engines are equipped with an SCR exhaust gas cleaning system.

The catamaran is approved for 50 passengers. In addition, 15 bicycles can be transported.
