Linda Bresonik [ brɛˈzoːnɪk ] (born December 7, 1983 in Essen ) is a former German national soccer player .
Career
Bresonik began her career at the age of five at TuS 84/10 Essen , where she played in a boys' team until she was D-youth . In 1995 she moved to Grün-Weiß Schönebeck , a forerunner of today's SG Essen-Schönebeck. From 2000 to 2005 she played for FCR 2001 Duisburg . On May 10, 2001, she completed her first international match for Germany against the selection of Italy . In the same year, Bresonik won the European championship in their own country with the German selection . In 2002 she was on the one hand U-19 European champion on the other hand third at the U-19 World Cup . As part of the World Cup, FIFA put Bresonik's name on a list of 16 players who “have to be remembered for the future”. In addition to Bresonik, 16-year-old Marta and Canadian Christine Sinclair were on the list. In 2003, Bresonik drove with the senior national team to the 2003 World Cup in the USA .
After a stint at SC 07 Bad Neuenahr , the midfielder returned to SG Essen-Schönebeck in 2006. At the Algarve Cup 2007 she was used in the German national team, with which she became world champion in September 2007. At the DFB Indoor Cup 2008 , Bresonik was voted the best player and also secured the title of best goalscorer. At the end of the 2007/08 season she left the SG Essen-Schönebeck and played again for Duisburg.
In the quarter-finals of the Olympic women's football tournament in Beijing in 2008 , Bresonik tore an external ligament in his left ankle and had to end the tournament. In 2009 she won the UEFA Women's Cup and the DFB Cup with Duisburg . In 2011, she first canceled her contract in Duisburg, but joined the FCR in August 2011 until the end of the 2012/13 season.
On February 15, 2012 she scored the 1000th international goal of the senior national team in a 5-0 victory in the European Championship qualifier with a 3-0 win against Turkey . At the Algarve Cup 2012 she was used in the three group matches. On July 27, 2012, Bresonik dissolved her contract with FCR Duisburg and signed with Paris Saint-Germain FC .
In 2014 she ended her national team career. For the 2015/16 season she was signed by the second division club MSV Duisburg , the immediate successor of her former Duisburg club. In 2017 she left the club again. She joined the second division club BV Cloppenburg , which also offered her a professional future.
On December 19, 2017, the 84-time national player announced the end of her career for professional and private reasons and left BV Cloppenburg with immediate effect in order to be able to concentrate on the position she took on on December 1 as an employee of the city of Düsseldorf's equal opportunities office .
In an interview in 2018, she argued for the professionalization of women's football .
Linda Bresonik has been the official brand ambassador for Leadership meets Sports since October 2019.

Linda Bresonik is a trained wholesale and foreign trade clerk and plays swing golf , a simplified version of the game of golf.
