The Lindenbach in the Hessian capital Wiesbaden is a 6.4 km long, orographically right tributary of the Rhine .

The stream rises as Erlenbach at a height of 270 m northwest of Wiesbaden-Frauenstein . The floodplain in the upper reaches of the natural area of the Rheingau-Wiesbadener Vortaunus (part of the Vortaunus ) is part of the Sommerberg nature reserve near Frauenstein below Sommerberg Castle . The stream then flows past Hof Armada , where there is a pond, to the Grorother Hof and enters the Rheingau natural area . There the Lippbach, which rises east of Georgenborn and has crossed the Frauenstein settlement, flows from the left , where the Katzbach flowed in from the right. From the Grorother Hof the water flows as the Grorother Bach to the Grorother Mühle , where the Leierbach flows from the left, which rises to the west of Freudenberg Castle . The watercourse then bears the name Lindenbach. From the left water flows from the spring Grunsels Börnchen, where, according to a legend, the storks living in Schierstein fish for babies. Then the Lindenbach crosses under the federal highway 66 and the right stretch of the Rhine and crosses the Wiesbaden district of Schierstein with the Lindenviertel , channeled and piped several times . It flows into the Schiersteiner Hafen , an inland port on the Rhine .

Flora and fauna
Common frogs , common toads and species of newts can be found in the stagnant waters . In the shady areas of the upper reaches are salamanders , grass snakes and grass frogs to find. The insects at the brook include marsh insects , hay horses , dragonflies such as the blue-winged demoiselle , the great dragonfly , the quadruped , the horseshoe damsel and the flat bellied , as well as the Russian bear as a butterfly species. Nightingale , dipper , yellow mocker , white wagtail , mountain wagtail , wren , chiffchaff , willow tit , marsh tit and golden cockerel are represented among bush and ground breeders . White storks and gray herons use the stream as a source of food . To live by the brook mandrel , rattling and blackcap and the bat species Noctule and pipistrelle .
