Lindhorst is a place in the Seevetal municipality in the Harburg district in Lower Saxony . It is located south of Hamburg on the northern edge of the Lüneburg Heath , in the commuter catchment area of the greater Hamburg area .

Lindhorst has 778 inhabitants, 86 of them with secondary residence, most of whom live in the actual town. Some of the residents live in the district of "Lindhorster Heide", which is located west of Lindhorst directly on the local border with Klecken (municipality of Rosengarten ).
The townscape of Lindhorst is rural - Lindhorst is surrounded by agricultural land (arable and grassland). The eastern boundary is the Seeve river , which gives the Seevetal community its name.
history
On July 1, 1972, the previously independent community became one of the 19 parish parts of the Seevetal community. This incorporation was not without controversy at the time.
