Lisa-Marie Karlseng Utland (born September 19, 1992 in Mo i Rana , Norway ) is a Norwegian soccer player who has been playing for Reading FC in the FA Women's Super League since the 2019 season and for the Norwegian women's national soccer team since 2015 .

Career

societies

Utland played in 2010 for the first division club IF Fløya with whom she was relegated at the end of the season. In 2012, she moved to Amazon Grimstad FK and scored seven goals in 23 games, helping the club narrowly avoided relegation. In 2013 she joined Trondheims-Ørn SK , for which she also played temporarily for the second team in the 2nd division. But she played most of the games for the first team. After four seasons, in which her team was seventh and eighth twice, she moved to league rivals Røa IL . She was then the second best goalscorer with 17 goals, but only reached fifth place with her team. The following season, she then moved to Damallsvenskan to play for the Swedish runner-up FC Rosengård . The first season in Sweden she finished with six goals in 20 league games from third place. She also played for Rosengård for the first time at European club level in the 2018/19 UEFA Women's Champions League , where she scored one goal in four games. Rosengård was eliminated in the round of 16 due to a 2: 3 home defeat and a goalless draw in the away game against Slavia Prague . She had achieved the interim equalization to 1-1 with her first CL goal in the home game.

In September 2019 she moved to the FA Women's Super League for Reading FC .

National teams

Utland went through several Norwegian junior teams. In September 2008 she took part with the U-16 team in the qualifying tournament in Estonia for the U-17 European Women's Football Championship in 2009 , where she scored four goals in a 7-0 win against Estonia. Norway qualified for the second qualifying round, which took place in Macedonia in April 2009 . Here she and her team qualified for the finals in Nyon , in which Norway finished fourth. In September of the same year, she took part with the U-19 team in the first qualifying round in England for the U-19 European Women's Football Championship 2010 and easily reached the second round. In this round, played in Serbia in spring 2010 , she and her team failed to Germany . In 2012 she played a game for the U-20 team and from 2014 she played for the U-23 team.

She was not nominated for the 2015 Algarve Cup , but was nominated on March 23, 2015 for the friendly against the Netherlands on April 8, in which she was not used. On May 14, 2015 she was nominated for the final squad for the 2015 World Cup as the only Norwegian player without an international match. She then played on May 23 in the friendly against Belgium , which was lost for the first time, her first game in the senior national team. She was also used on May 27, as did goalkeeper Cecilie Fiskerstrand and Maria Thorisdottir , in the U-23 team's game against England. At the World Cup, she was used in two games, including in the round of 16 that her team lost 2-1 to England and was eliminated.

By losing the last 16, the direct qualification for the 2016 Olympic Games was missed. The Norwegians still had the chance to secure the last European starting place in the qualifying tournament for the 2016 Olympic Games . For this tournament, in which the Norwegians failed, she was nominated but not used.

Two months before the tournament, she scored her first goal for the senior national team on January 22nd, 2016 in a 6-0 win in their first game against Romania .

The subsequent qualification for the 2017 European Championship ended with seven wins and one draw as group winners. She was used in four games against the weaker opponents. At the Algarve Cup 2017 she was used in four games. The Norwegians could only win the game for 11th place against host Portugal , which meant the worst placement in the tournament's history for the Norwegians.

At the European Championship, where it was used in the two games, the Norwegians then failed to score for the first time and were eliminated as the bottom of the group. In the subsequent qualification for the 2019 World Cup , she was one of the eight Norwegians who played all eight qualifying games and was the Norwegians' top scorer with seven goals. In the end, they were group winners before European champions Netherlands . She had her first tournament success in 2019 when she won the Algarve Cup . She scored the 2-1 winning goal in stoppage time in the first group game against Denmark . On May 2, she was nominated for the 2019 World Cup and thus her second World Cup. At the World Cup, she was used in the five Norwegian games. In the first group game against Nigeria , she scored her first World Cup goal to make it 2-0 (final score 3-0). With a 3-0 defeat against England in the quarter-finals, she and her team were eliminated and thus also missed the 2020 Olympic Games .
