Lisa Christina Nemec , born Lisa Christina Stublić (born May 18, 1984 in Waterbury , Connecticut ), is a Croatian long-distance runner .

The daughter of a Croatian father and a US mother was born and raised in the United States. With a sports scholarship, she studied music theory at Columbia University from 2002 to 2005 .

In 2008 she moved to Croatia to learn her father's language and soon found a coach in Slavko Petrović who persuaded her to switch from her previous specialty, obstacle course , to road running . In 2009 she was third in the Vidovdan run and was only one second above the national record over 10 km with 33:57 minutes. In addition, she set a new Croatian record in the 3000 meter obstacle course on June 1, 2009 in Ljubljana with a time of 10: 09.56 minutes. This was improved in 2018 by Kristina Hendel .

In 2010 she set a national record in the half marathon as second in Carinthia runs with 1:14:42 h . Another Croatian record followed shortly afterwards with her debut over the 42.195 km distance: At the Berlin Marathon 2010 she finished ninth in 2:33:42 hours.

In 2011 she improved her records over both distances with a fourth place at the CPC Loop Den Haag and a victory at the Linz Marathon . At the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Daegu , she came in 27th place.

Lisa Christina Nemec started for the Atletski Club Zagreb Ulix.

In 2016, the IAAF announced that doping tests taken in October 2015 were positive and imposed a four-year ban on Lisa Nemec.
