Lispenhausen is after the core city the largest district in terms of population of Rotenburg an der Fulda in the East Hessian district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg .
Geographical location
The place is 50 km south of Kassel in the district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg , between Rotenburg and Bebra , on the federal highway 83 at a distance of about 2.5 kilometers from the city center. The Haselbach flows through Lispenhausen and flows into the Fulda on the southwestern outskirts .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 786 as a fiefdom of the Hersfeld Abbey .
On August 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Lispenhausen was incorporated into the city of Rotenburg an der Fulda as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

The most impressive building in the village is the former Lispenhausen moated castle .
Regular events
Every year on the second weekend in October the fair takes place. The so-called "Dappchenball" marks the end of this festival.
Every year on the first weekend in June there is a spring market in Lispenhausen.

The Lispenhausen stop is on the Bebra-Baunatal-Guntershausen railway line .
