Schwarzenhasel is a district of Rotenburg an der Fulda in northeastern Hesse in the district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg .

geography

Schwarzenhasel is located north of the town of Rotenburg and is one of four places in the valley of the Fulda tributary Haselbach , known as Haselgrund , in the south of the Stölzinger Mountains . The state road 3226 runs through the village, the direct neighbors are Lispenhausen in the south and Erkshausen in the north.

history

According to today's knowledge, the village was first mentioned on August 1, 1310 with the place name Hasela . This old document lists a Hermann Scherzeling with goods in Hasela . This Hermann Scherzeling appears in a document dated March 1, 1312 with goods in "Swarzinhasela". In 1312 the knight Ditmar von Breitenbach donated half of his estates in Schwarzenhasel to the Cornberg monastery . Around 1371 a castle or a castle seat is mentioned. From 1457 to 1522 the village was Schwarzenhasel landgräflich-Hessian fief of the family of Holzheim. From 1527 to 1823 it was owned by the von Trott family . The Schwarzenhasel moated castle became the ancestral home of those von Trott zu Schwarzenhasel, who died out in the male line in 1813 with Carl Ludwig Trott zu Schwarzenhasel. The castle is still surrounded by a moat on three sides. It is inhabited and the current owner continues to be the patron saint of the Schwarzenhasel parish by tradition .

On August 1, 1972, the previously independent community of Schwarzenhasel was incorporated into the city of Rotenburg an der Fulda as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
