List of eagle's nest castles
The so-called Adlerhorst castles are a series of castles and fortifications that are located on a mountain range in the southern part of Poland , in the Kraków-Częstochowa Highlands . This limestone mountain range, formed in the Jurassic Age, runs between Kraków and the Częstochowa highlands . Most of these castles were built in the 14th and 15th centuries. Some of them were built by the Polish king Casimir the Great , some belonged to Polish princes and bishops and were destroyed during the Second Northern War . The Ojców National Park with the Pieskowa Skała Castle includes some of the most impressive highland regions in Poland.
