more pictures	LVR Clinic Düsseldorf	Bergische Landstrasse 2 map	On the Pudlerhof near Gerresheim, a hilly, 22-hectare area surrounded by forest, located on the old country road to Elberfeld, the "Grafenberg Provincial Sanatorium" was built around 1872. It consisted of 18 individual houses, which were connected to each other by bricked and covered walkways or arcades. In 1895/96 the facility was comprehensively modernized from a structural and therapeutic point of view. All new houses were designed as open departments, previous window bars were removed and the gardens were enlarged. During the Second World War, the administration building, the chapel and the food store were completely destroyed and all buildings showed cracks, roofs were partially covered, paths and streets were torn open.
