detached house | Brend'amourstrasse 72 | The house, built according to plans by the architect Heinrich Fedler, comes from the first development in the district and, in connection with other buildings from around 1910, shapes the street scene. It is also a characteristic single-family house of that time. The spatial arrangement of the main residential floors with their interior fittings and design from the time of construction have been preserved, thus evidence of the single-family house architecture in the form of a row house before the First World War. The design details were developed from the then exemplary historicism in favor of a more objective formal language (transition style). | 1910 | Apr 9, 2015 |

former power center | Hansaallee 9, 11, 11a, 11b | The "Electric Power Plant for the Düsseldorf-Krefeld Kleinbahn ", former power station (for direct current) with administration building, machine house and boiler house of the Rheinische Bahngesellschaft in Oberkassel, Hansaallee No. 9 and 11, was built in 1897 with the construction of the Oberkasseler Bridge . The building of the power station and the depot were executed by the building contractor Philipp Zingraf (1837-1913). The part of the building with the number 11 is only partially preserved. “The buildings are made of solid masonry. Selected machine stones were used for the outer pillars, doors and window frames, while the wall surfaces in between are plastered, which has given the exterior a friendly appearance (see panel 28). ”In 1912 the building ensemble was expanded by No. 11a. The part of the building with no. 11b is from 1951. Numbers 11, 11a and 11b have been used by well-known artists from the Düsseldorf School of Photography , including Laurenz Berges , Andreas Gursky , Axel Hütte and Thomas Ruff , since the early 1980s . The former machine house with the number 9 is now used as the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Düsseldorf-Oberkassel (meetings also in Vietnamese , Japanese and Arabic ). | 1897, 1912 and 1951 | Dec 13, 1994 |

Bridge locks | Kaiser Friedrich Ring 1 | The little bridge castle with its corner tower was built four years after the completion of the Oberkassel bridge and marks the entrance to Oberkassel with the " Haus Esplanade " (Luegplatz 3). The building was initially designed as a residential building by the architect Theodor Balzer (1874–1944), who lived on Cheruskerstrasse around 1905. Balzer also built the outbuilding at Kaiser-Friedrich-Ring 1a (removed), into which he himself moved. The so-called "Brückenschlösschen" soon became an excursion destination for city dwellers looking for relaxation. A restaurant of the same name was operated there from 1910 to 1918. As the builder and owner, Balzer had to pay a lease for the part of the sidewalk areas of the corner building on Luegplatz up to Kaiser-Friedrich-Ring 1a, which was built over to the arcade, totaling 60 marks . Around 1914 the building became the property of the Schmittmann brothers with a grain distillery in Niederkassel . After the First World War, the building served as an officers' mess for the Belgian occupation. Until 1939 there were various gastronomic offers, such as a pub, café, restaurant and liqueur bar. During the Second World War, the tower was destroyed by bombs in 1943 and replaced by a flat roof in order to install an anti-aircraft gun. In 1950 the house was rebuilt and used as a hotel by the Damm family. In 1979 the house was extensively restored. | 1905 | 5th Mar 1984 |

Residential building | Lohengrinstrasse 10 | The Lohengrinstr. 10 and 12, both built by the architect Adam Dickmann in 1907, reflect the taste of the times and the way of life at the turn of the century before last, both outside and inside in a high quality finish. The facades are already strongly committed to the simplistic design language of the Werkbund , which will then flow into the New Objectivity in the early 1920s. The ornamental framework in the attic of No. 10 is still a small reminiscence of the rich facade decoration of historicism. | 1907 | May 31, 2013 |

Post office | Luegallee 52 | The three-storey brick building with an extended mansard roof was built between 1926 and 1928 by the architects A. Tönnesmann, S. Mönks and W. Meier, because the post office on Cheruskerstrasse had become too small. The street side is divided into seventeen axes by wall panels, with the right four axes slightly in front as a risalit. The third floor is developed as an attic floor and leads over to the subsequent plastered building. The entire structure comprises a base made of tuff stone . The main entrance of the post office was emphasized more strongly, here the tuff stone plinth was raised to the level of the ground floor. The sculptor Ferdinand Heseding created the sandstone sculptures, ornamental and figurative, which flank the entrance. The figures standing on small plinths to the right and left of the door symbolize payment transactions and correspondence. The man is holding a bag of money in one hand and a coin in the other. The woman holds a carrier pigeon in her right hand and a scroll in her left hand. The post horn is emblazoned as a logo under both figures. Above the entrance portal, the facade is adorned with three reliefs made of shell limestone, created by the sculptor Wilhelm Martini (1880–1965). In the center a stylized postal eagle in a rectangular frame and to the right and left of it two men's heads, one calling and the other hearing, which is an indication of the telephone traffic that was then carried out on the first floor of the post office. At the front facing Kyffhäuserstraße there is an entrance with a small porch. | 1926-1928 | Aug 24, 1987 |

Old candy factory | Schanzenstrasse 20a | It is the former factory building of the Bergische Stahlindustrie. The property is behind the closed perimeter block development on Schanzenstrasse. Today's appearance inside and out goes back to a design by the architect Andreas Grohmann. He planned and supplemented buildings from the years 1903 to 1904, which the architect and building contractor Rudolf Schnütgen had built for his carpentry business. Grohmann's plans for the Bergische Stahlindustrie (BSI) were implemented between 1921 and 1925. The Bergische Stahlindustrie (BSI) from Remscheid, which had been at Uhlandstrasse 3 in Düsseldorf since 1917, took over the property in mid-1920. After a construction project planned on Uhlandstrasse to build a "large-scale warehouse of quality steel" failed in 1921 due to planning rights and resistance from neighbors, the company settled in Oberkassel. The ZEFA photo agency was based here from 1969 to 2004. Today, the “Alte Bonbonfabrik” is located above the main entrance of the building. | 1921-1925 | May 12, 2014 |

Julia Stoschek Collection and Foundation | Schanzenstrasse 54 / Greifweg | The rear building at Schanzenstrasse 54 is a monument to early modern industrial architecture with its reinforced concrete skeleton construction and roof structure made of Polonceau girders on the one hand and the simultaneous use of monumental elements such as symmetrical towers in the gable front on the other . After the Second World War until 2002, the picture molding and frame factory of the entrepreneur Friedrich Conzen was here . In 2007 the building was converted by the Berlin architectural office Kuehn Malvezzi for the Stoschek Collection in Düsseldorf. | 1907-1908 | Aug 5, 1992 |
