former main customs office | Hubertusstrasse 1 | In 1901/1902 the “Royal Main Tax Office” of the city of Düsseldorf was built according to plans by building officer Karl Bongard and government architect Kochs. Initially, the customs clearance of the Rhine shipping trade was primarily processed here. During the Second World War, the port and the “Royal Main Tax Office” were badly damaged. After the war, the building was rebuilt, renouncing the original architecture, and used as the "main customs office". In 2010 the building was sold to a private investor after a long period of vacancy. | 1901-1902 | July 12, 1988 |
