Former baby home Former baby home Witzelstrasse 150, 150a (formerly Werstenerstrasse)
map
The infant home was built in 1908 according to plans by the architect Walter Furthmann for the "Association for Infant Care" founded by Arthur Schloßmann , with Maria Baum as managing director. In the 1920s, the building complex became a dormitory for the sisterhood of the Red Cross Düsseldorf . The seat of the sisterhood was also in the "nurses' home of the Düsseldorfer Frauenverein" at Moorenstrasse 48. In mid-2000 the building complex, directly opposite the university clinic and with the back facing the Düsseldorfer Volksgarten, a former part of the Unterbilker cemetery, was also known under the name "Villa Greif", the name of a company for buying and selling, managing and renting land, houses and apartments. 1908 Sep 15 1992 A 1240
