The honorary citizenship is the highest municipal award the town of Ottobrunn . So far eight people have been made honorary citizens.

  1. Ferdinand Leiß (1910–2002)
    mayor
    Awarded in 1980
    For 15 years, from May 20, 1962 to February 28, 1977, Leiß was the first mayor.
  2. Karl Mager (1911–1986)
    Municipal council
    Awarded in 1981
    Mager founded TSV Ottobrunn in 1949 . From April 1955 to November 1977 he represented the SPD in the Ottobrunn municipal council for 22 years. From May 1, 1960 to April 30, 1966, he was Second Mayor of Ottobrunn. A path in Ottobrunn is named after Mager.
  3. Josef Wudy (1917–1992)

    Awarded in 1990
    Wudy headed the elementary school on Lenbachallee from 1963 to 1971. For 24 years, from May 1966 to April 1990, he represented the CSU in the Ottobrunn municipal council. From May 1, 1972 to April 30, 1990 he was third mayor of Ottobrunn.
  4. Willi Proch (1915–1996)

    Awarded in 1990
    In 1959 Proch was elected first chairman of the newly founded CSU local group Ottobrunn-Riemerling. For 35 years, from April 1955 to April 1990, he was a member of the Ottobrunn municipal council.
  5. Rudolf Heydt (* 1936)
    Municipal council
    Awarded in 2006
    Heydt was a member of the Ottobrunn municipal council as a representative of the SPD from February 1967 to April 2008. He served the Ottobrunn community for 18 years, from May 1, 1990 to April 30, 2008, as second mayor. He was made an honorary citizen for his “particularly great service to the Ottobrunn community”.
  6. Anton Zawadke (born June 13, 1932 in Zippnow / Hinterpommern ; † March 15, 2013 in Munich)

    Awarded in 2009
    For 38 years, from 1969 to 2007, Zawadke was pastor of the parish of St. Otto. Zawadke received honorary citizenship for his "particularly great services to the Ottobrunn community".
  7. Jan Murken (born August 19, 1934 in Gütersloh )
    Pediatrician and professor emeritus of paediatrics and human genetics

    Murken has lived in Ottobrunn since 1971 and was there for the SPD on the local council for 24 years. For 14 years (1972–1986) he represented Ottobrunn interests in the Munich-Land district assembly. Since 1978 he has campaigned for the promotion of culture and the preservation of monuments in the district assembly . Murken has directed the Otto-König-von-Greece Museum since 1989 , which he initiated, conceived and built up in major parts. In addition, in 1976 he initiated the community partnership with Nauplia , the first ever German-Greek partnership. Murken has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon (1995), the Gold Medal of the Historical Society of Athens (1999), the " Munich Shines " medal in silver (2001), the Bavarian Order of Merit (2002), the Bavarian Constitutional Medal in silver (2004) , the Ottobrunner Citizens Medal (2005) and the golden ring of honor of the Association of German-Greek Societies (2005).
  8. Sabine Kudera (* 1942)
    German sociologist , professor emeritus at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich and local politician of the SPD

    In 1989 she turned to politics and was elected First Mayor of Ottobrunn . As a female social democrat, she was an exception in the otherwise CSU- dominated community. She was re-elected in 1995 and 2001, but did not run again in 2007. She was awarded the honorary title of former mayor by the municipality of Ottobrunn .
