In the capital of Quierzy in 877, Charles the Bald confirmed their possession to the Counts of Rouergue . In the course of the 9th century these came into the possession of the County of Toulouse . Since Count Raimund II, the title of Duke (Margrave) of Septimania (Gothien) has been associated with the possession of the Rouergues .
