List of members of the Liechtenstein Parliament (1918)
This list shows the members of the Landtag of the Principality of Liechtenstein that emerged from the Landtag elections of March 11th and 18th, 1918. For the first time, the twelve members of parliament elected by the people were directly elected without electors. The remaining three were appointed by the sovereign for the last time in this election.
For the first time in this election, proposals were made by the parties that had only recently been founded. The only two parties were the Christian Social People's Party (VP) and the Progressive Citizens' Party in Liechtenstein (FBP). Although both parties were to be classified as conservative and devoted to the Christian faith, the FBP was significantly more conservative, clerical and reactionary, while the VP tried to implement democratic and social reforms and represented the workers.
In order to be elected to the state parliament, at least more than half of all votes cast were required. If several candidates achieved an absolute majority of the votes, those with the most votes were drawn. Seven MPs were elected in the Oberland constituency and five in the Unterland constituency. Since not all candidates achieved an absolute majority, runoff elections were held on March 18, 1918 to determine the missing MPs.
List of members
In Oberland 974 votes were counted, which means that a candidate needed at least 488 votes to enter the state parliament. In Unterland 611 votes were cast, so 306 votes were enough.
