List of members of the provisional Tyrolean state assembly

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of the members of the provisional Tyrolean state assembly lists all the members of the provisional Tyrolean state assembly that was convened in Tyrol after the end of the First World War . The provisional state assembly held office from December 21, 1918 until the deputies of the constituent state parliament were sworn in in 1919.

history

After the dissolution of Austria-Hungary began in October 1918, provisional state parliaments were constituted in the countries of the remaining " German Austria ". The Tyrolean National Council met in Tyrol as early as October 1918 , and it met until the provisional state assembly was constituted. The provisional state assembly consisted of 21 members of the Tyrolean People's Party (TVP), nine members of the German Freedom Party (DFP), eight Social Democratic Workers' Party (SDAP) and one member of the Greater German People's Party (GDVP). Like any semi-revolutionary instrument, this body had a limited democratic legitimation. The state assembly was not preceded by elections, rather the political parties mostly nominated the members of the state parliament or the imperial council elected in the monarchy, but with the indication that they were no longer representatives of a curia but of the political parties.
