List of stumbling blocks in Schwalmtal
The list of stumbling blocks in Schwalmtal contains all stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in Schwalmtal as part of the project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Schwalmtal.
In addition to the stumbling blocks, the Süchteln-Johannistal Sanatorium Memorial Center - Waldniel department uses hand-signed metal plates to remember the victims who "died" there during National Socialism .

On September 26, 1942 he was taken from there with Transport Br, no. 595 deported to the Treblinka extermination camp , where he was murdered. | |

Leopold Levy was born on December 19, 1880 to Meyer Levy and his wife Carolina Levy, b. Born in Bonn in Waldniel, two siblings are known: Alex Abraham (* May 15, 1875) and Henriette (* October 20, 1884) . Leopold married Selma Wallach and the marriage had three children: Kurt (* July 6, 1909, suicide in Aachen, +1928), Elisabeth (* November 17, 1913, + December 15, 1913 in Waldniel) and Ruth (* 17. November 1913, 1st December 1913 in Waldniel). Humiliated and disenfranchised (including expulsion from the "Patriotic Women's Association" of the Red Cross), Selma ended her life on February 4, 1935. Leopold married Erna Vogel (born February 26, 1899) on January 29, 1937 , no children are known. Leopold was deported from Düsseldorf to the Riga Ghetto on December 11, 1941 , where he was murdered. | |
