List of stumbling blocks in Kerken

The list of stumbling blocks in Kerken contains all the stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in Kerken as part of the project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in dungeons.

After fleeing to Belgium, he was interned in Mechelen, on August 11, 1942, deported on Transport II from Caserne Dossin (deportation number 661) to Auschwitz, where he was murdered on September 25, 1942.

She married Ludwig Mendel (* 1878) and the marriage resulted in four sons: Erich (* 1907) , Arthur (* 1900) , Otto (* 1904) and Karl (* 12.01.1902) . Adele was brought to the Theresienstadt ghetto on July 25, 1942 via Düsseldorf with Transport VII / 2 Br663, from there on September 26, 1942 to Treblinka, where she was murdered.

In 1938 he fled from the National Socialists to Shanghai / China , where he lived for ten years. He then moved to the USA , where he died in 1982.

Meyer (* 1879) was born in Aldekerk, he had three brothers: Arthur (* 1900) , Arthur (* 1900) and Otto (* 1904) . Karl marries Paula Jülich (* March 31, 1901), and the marriage had two children: Vera (* April 18, 1929) and Richard (* February 12, 1931) . Karl, Paula, Vera and Richard emigrated to Belgium, Karl was interned in the Saint Cyprien camp from May 10th to 15th, 1940. On October 10th, 1942 he was brought from Mechelen to Auschwitz, on February 10th, 1945 he was deported to Buchenwald and murdered there.
		Otto Mendel, born in 1904, lived here . Otto was arrested in 1938 and deported to Oranienburg, where he managed to escape - he was able to flee to Cuba.
