List of stumbling blocks in Kerken
The list of stumbling blocks in Kerken contains all the stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in Kerken as part of the project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in dungeons.

Erich Mendel was born on August 23, 1907 as the son of Ludwig Mendel (* 1878) and Adele Mendel, b. Meyer (* 1879) was born in Aldekerk, he had three brothers: Arthur (* 1900) , Karl (* 12.01.1902) and Otto (* 1904) . After fleeing to Belgium, he was interned in Mechelen, on August 11, 1942, deported on Transport II from Caserne Dossin (deportation number 661) to Auschwitz, where he was murdered on September 25, 1942. | |||

Adele Meyer (or Meier) was born on April 18th, 1875 in Krefeld. She married Ludwig Mendel (* 1878) and the marriage resulted in four sons: Erich (* 1907) , Arthur (* 1900) , Otto (* 1904) and Karl (* 12.01.1902) . Adele was brought to the Theresienstadt ghetto on July 25, 1942 via Düsseldorf with Transport VII / 2 Br663, from there on September 26, 1942 to Treblinka, where she was murdered. | |||

Arthur Mendel was born in 1900 as the eldest son of Ludwig Mendel (* 1878) and Adele Mendel, b. Meyer (* 1879) born. He had three brothers: Karl (* January 12th, 1902) , Arthur (* 1900) and Otto (* 1904) . In 1938 he fled from the National Socialists to Shanghai / China , where he lived for ten years. He then moved to the USA , where he died in 1982. | |||

Karl Mendel was born on January 12th, 1902 as the son of Ludwig Mendel (* 1878) and Adele Mendel, b. Meyer (* 1879) was born in Aldekerk, he had three brothers: Arthur (* 1900) , Arthur (* 1900) and Otto (* 1904) . Karl marries Paula Jülich (* March 31, 1901), and the marriage had two children: Vera (* April 18, 1929) and Richard (* February 12, 1931) . Karl, Paula, Vera and Richard emigrated to Belgium, Karl was interned in the Saint Cyprien camp from May 10th to 15th, 1940. On October 10th, 1942 he was brought from Mechelen to Auschwitz, on February 10th, 1945 he was deported to Buchenwald and murdered there. | |||
