Karl Heinz Moerderswas born on July 25th, 1936 as the son of Wilhelm Moerders and Maria Moerders, b. Schnödewind was born in Mönchengladbach. Because of his handicap, he did not grow up with his parents, but first in the Vinzenzhaus sanatorium in Oberhausen. On March 18, 1942 he was moved from there to the Josefshaus in Hardt. Since the Josefshaus was (allegedly) overcrowded, a total of 310 patients were transferred to five different facilities from September 1942 by order of the authorities. Karl Heinz was brought to Tworki on May 17th, 1943 and transferred to the State Institute for the Mentally Ill in Kulparkow near Lemberg on August 18th, 1943 . There his track is lost. | |

Theodor Franz Maria Hesperswas born on December 12th, 1903 as the second of six children of Franz and Berta Hespers in Mönchengladbach. On May 3, 1930, he married Katharina (Käthe) Kelz, and a year later their son Dietrich-Franz (Dieter) was born. Politically he was assigned to the Christian-social youth, but in the years 1931-1933 he was also active in the red trade union organization. He worked closely with the KPD , but was never a member of the party, on March 5, 1933 he stood as a candidate for the unified list of workers and peasants in the Reichstag election . Since he - as an opponent of the National Socialists - was threatened with arrest, the family emigrated to the Netherlands in April 1933, where he continued his political work. Under pressure from the German Foreign Office, the family had to leave their place of residence in the border area with the German border and move to Helmond in North Brabant ; his writings were distributed through couriers. In 1938 he and Hans Ebeling founded an aid committee to support refugees from the Bündische Jugend . After the German troops marched in , the family fled to Antwerp , where Theo was arrested by the Gestapo on February 10, 1942. On July 22, 1943, Theo Hespers was sentenced to death for high treason , the sentence was carried out on September 9, 1943 in Berlin-Plötzensee . |

With his brother Siegfried (1898–1937) he founded the manufacture goods store Gebr. Hermanns in 1927. He married Margarete (Grete) Goldbaum (* March 26th, 1899) , the marriage resulted in one child (Hilde(* 08/28/1923, † 1944 in Stutthof)) and had a younger sister: Sofia (04/17/1896) . From September 24th, 1938 to October 4th, 1938 was in " protective custody " in Dachau , the family then decided to emigrate to Cuba . For lack of money only Julius was able to board the ship to Havana on May 13, 1939, but was refused entry on May 27, 1939. The MS St. Louis was therefore forced to return to Europe , the family met in France . After internment as a hostile foreigner, he was interned by the French in St. Cyprien . He finally got to Drancy on August 11, 1942 via several other internment camps, and on August 14 , 1942 he was deported to Auschwitz, where he was murdered. | |

On December 8th, 1938 Eddie Helmut fled to Brussels , his parents followed him on February 3rd, 1939. At an unknown point in time, they went on to France , where the family was arrested. Eddie Helmut was (probably) interned between May 10 and May 15, 1940 in the Drancy assembly camp, from where he was taken to Auschwitz on September 11, 1942 . At the beginning of 1945 he was deported to the Buchenwald concentration camp , Langenstein-Zwieberge subcamp. The camp was evacuated on April 9, 1945, and the inmates were driven on one of the notorious death marches across central Germany. Eddie Helmut managed to escape with a few other inmates, they were saved by the approaching US Army. Eddie Helmut emigrated to the USA , where he served in the army for 20 years. He married Johanna Willner Tiburtius, six children are known. Eddie Helmut Willner died on March 30th, 2008 in Falls Church ( Virginia ). |
