The list of stumbling blocks in Hilden contains stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in Hilden as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Hilden.

Stumbling Stone Wilhelm Johann Weiler Hilden.jpg Wilhelm Johann Weiler was born on November 27, 1883 in Hilden. After taking part in the resistance, he was arrested in 1933 and imprisoned and tortured in the Koburg in the Neandertal near Mettmann . The year after his release, he committed suicide on October 10, 1934.

After she was abducted from Russia to Germany, she did forced labor as a housemaid in the Hilden train station restaurant from 1942 . On January 12, 1944, she was admitted to the Düsseldorf-Grafenberg sanatorium. In May 1944, she was transferred from there to the Obrawalde Sanatorium near Meseritz and murdered there on May 18, 1944.

Her husband Richard Wahle (1863–1939) had been the owner of the Kirberg & Hüls machine works since 1908 . In 1938 he had to forcibly sell the company.

Together with her husband Georg Schweriner, Betty moved to Essen , where their first daughter was born in 1899. Two years later, in 1901, the family moved to Düsseldorf, where they ran a confectionery wholesaler. Two more daughters were born in 1903 and 1906. The house at Kreuzstrasse 58 in Düsseldorf was attacked, devastated and looted and after 1940 it was declared a so-called “ Jewish house ”. On July 21, 1942 she was deported from Düsseldorf to the Theresienstadt ghetto, and from there on September 26, 1942 to the Treblinka extermination camp , where she was murdered.
