The list of stumbling blocks in Tönisvorst contains all the stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in Tönisvorst as part of the project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Tönisvorst.

During the night of the pogrom , his house is devastated, Isaac is injured, but can be saved from death by burning by the citizens of St. Tönis. In 1938 he fled to the Netherlands with the help of an employee, and in 1940 he emigrated to Argentina. | |

He was arrested in 1938 and imprisoned in Sachsenhausen from June 21, 1938 to October 20, 1938 . On November 21, 1938 he managed to escape to Holland with the goal of Peru, after the invasion of the Nazis he was interned in Westerbork from March 20, 1940 to September 4, 1944. Then it went to the Theresienstadt ghetto, to Auschwitz on September 29, 1944 and to Buchenwald on February 6, 1945 . There he had the detention number "8690" and was murdered on March 19, 1945 in Langenstein-Zwieberge . | |||

Kaplan Theodor Kniebeler was born on August 28, 1909 as the son of the couple Franz Kniebeler and Helene, b. Crombach was born in Eschweiler . On 07.26.1936 he was in Aachen for priests ordained. He worked as a chaplain in Obermaubach and Vorst. In April 1940 he protested in a sermon against a film event organized by a Gaufilmstelle on White Sunday . In December 1940 he was drafted into military service.
From August 1941 he was deployed on the Eastern Front as a war pastor and later as a medic . On April 19, 1942, he gave two sermons while on home leave in Vorst. In both reported from his experiences at the front, z. E.g. that the SS storms monasteries with force of arms, which does not require any particular courage. He said, "These people should better prove their courage out there on the front lines." He was charged with undermining military strength and abusing the pulpit ; the final proceedings were on January 20, 1943 before the Reichsgericht . He was facing the death penalty . He was sentenced to prison, but was soon sent to the Eastern Front as a soldier “on probation”, where he was deployed in the front line. He was seriously wounded on March 13, 1944 (shot in the stomach), died on April 2, 1944 in a military hospital in East Prussia and was buried in the Suwałki cemetery (at that time in Sudauen ). |

He probably suffered from epilepsy and was taken to the Alexianer Kloster in Krefeld on October 14, 1943 and from there to the Meseritz Orawalde camp near Posen . He is said to have been murdered there on June 5, 1944. |
