Location of Zauckerode in Freital

The list of streets in Zauckerode contains all named streets of the Zauckerode district of the large district town of Freital in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district .

24 streets are named in Zauckerode. The most important street of the district is the Wilsdruffer Straße, which is classified as a state road and forms an important arterial road towards federal highway 173 in Kesselsdorf and federal highway 17 . The Burgwartstraße branching off in the town center is also more important for traffic, as is Saalhausener Straße, which is the only paved access to the Saalhausen district. The development of large building areas resulted in new streets in Zauckerode: the larger part was built in the 1970s and 1980s as part of the GDR's housing program with the construction of a prefabricated housing estate, primarily for the workers of the Freital stainless steel works . After 1990, new streets were named in the direction of Wurgwitz for another residential area. Another special feature is Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße, which was built as a bypass for Zauckeroder Straße so that it can give way to the clay quarrying of the Eder brickworks.

In the Freital city traffic , the Wilsdruffer, Wurgwitzer, Zauckeroder, Burgwart-, Oppel-, Gerhart-Hauptmann- and Moritz-Fernbacher-Straße as well as the Straße der Stahlwerker and the Saalhausener Straße are used by the bus routes of the regional traffic Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains. Six stops are served in Zauckerode.
