In addition to the coat of arms of the city of Frankfurt am Main , many districts of Frankfurt , which were once independent municipalities or cities, still have their own coat of arms from the time of their independence. Districts that belong to the original Frankfurt urban area only bear the Frankfurt city arms .

In the inner courtyard of the Römers , the Römerhöfchen , hang as facade decorations on the southern front of the house Zum Römer images of the coats of arms made of red Main sandstone . The newer coats of arms were designed by Gustav Scheinpflug .
