The parsonage at the western end of the Großschönau cemetery was originally a fortification and the seat of the kuenring bailiff. It was rebuilt from 1679 to 1700. The two-storey, broad-based building is covered by a gable roof. It has window frames and a structure through plastering fields, a rusticated courtyard gate and courtyard-facing ground floor arcades on Tuscan columns . Inside there is an early Gothic, beveled pointed arch portal on the ground floor. On the upper floor there is a room with an ornamental ceiling painting from the second quarter of the 19th century as well as a gothic carved figure of Mary with child from the branch church Harmannstein, which was made around 1460. The altar panel painted in the second half of the 17th century shows the coronation of Mary with saints. |

The former medieval fort on the road from Weitra to Zwettl, first mentioned in 1420, was converted into a meierhof and hunting lodge in 1625 by Landgrave Egon zu Fürstenberg von Weitra . The four-wing building has a stately, two-story front wing that was renewed in the 19th century. It has a plaster frame and a plaster-framed main gate with a gable top and a deer head relief on the Keilstein. In the interior you can see wooden ceilings with joists that were made in the 16th century. Adjacent to the main house there are stables and a barn. The eastern economic wing has a two- and three-aisled portico with groin vaults, which was built in the 17th century. Note: Until 2014, another part of the Hirschenhof was protected under the ID 26084. |
