From 1613 to 1615 Markus Sittikus von Hohenems built a villa suburbana based on the Italian model in front of the gates of the city of Salzburg, including a late Gothic aristocratic residence . The architect was Santino Solari . Together with the access road from the east, the east portal and the Fürstenweg (today crossing the Alpine road) , the castle forms a castle axis that extends far into the landscape.

The baroque parish church with its west tower, which is Gothic in its core, stands slightly elevated above the center of the village. Inside, the three-aisled nave in the east is followed by the single-nave choir with a five-eighth end. A late Gothic winged altar from around 1480 serves as the high altar; the two side altars and the pulpit were built at the end of the 17th century.
