List of ukulele orchestras

The list of ukulele orchestras leads existing and former Ukulele - Orchestra and ukulele ensemble on. The list does not claim to be complete. Reasons for inclusion on the list can be:

• Recordings made by the orchestra or ensemble and generally available,
• multiple participation in national television or radio broadcasts,
• successful participation in a major competition,
• regular national appearances,
• above average number of regional appearances or
• regular press coverage in national, well-known media or
• a special historical tradition.

Germany

After the ukulele became popular as a musical instrument in Germany in the late 1990s, a number of ukulele orchestras and ukulele ensembles were founded in various places. Interest in the instrument aroused among others the German TV presenter, entertainer and singer-songwriter Stefan Raab with his "Raabigrammen", mostly performed on the ukulele, or the American singer-songwriter Julia Nunes , who became known via YouTube , but also the success and the Europe - and Germany tours of two comedic ukulele groups from Great Britain  - The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and The United Kingdom Ukulele Orchestra (TUKUO). CQ - Cologne Contemporary Ukulele Ensemble (2013)

• 1. Bremer Ukulele Orchestra , originally in 2011 in Bremen for the one-time participation in a concert against the right-wing founded ukulele orchestra, which as a group of 30 people has now developed into an integral part of the Bremen music scene
• 1. Husum Ukulele Orchestra , founded in 2010, seven-piece ukulele group from Husum that plays a mixture of pop, folk and jazz
• CQ - Cologne Contemporary Ukulele Ensemble , founded in 2013 ukulele ensemble of Cologne , dedicated to new music dedicated
• Endow County Ukulele Orchestra (German: ' Stiftland Ukulele-Orchester'), five-piece ukulele group from the Tirschenreuth district in Upper Palatinate , with numerous concerts throughout Bavaria
• First Ukulele Band Filsbach , seven-piece ukulele band from Mannheim - " Filsbach ", with a large number of appearances in the Mannheim region
• Ukulele Fever Band , a ukulele band from Regensburg founded in 2012 , with a variety of appearances in the Regensburg region
• Ukulele Orchestra Dorfen , founded in 2018. Performances in Dorfen and the surrounding area. Emerged from a group of students at the Dorfen grammar school .
