Liu Yandong
Liu Yandong ( Chinese 刘延东 ; born November 1945 in Nantong , Jiangsu ) is a Chinese communist politician.She has been a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China since 2007, a member of the State Council of the People's Republic of China since 2008, and second Vice Prime Minister since 2013.
Liu is a graduate of Tsinghua University . After serving in the Communist Youth League , she was the head of the United Front Department of the Communist Party Central Committee from 2002 to 2007 and vice-chair of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference from 2003 to 2008 .
From 2007 to 2012, Liu was the only female member of the Politburo. Previously, this has been Wu Yi since 2002 . Since 2012, Sun Chunlan has been a second woman in the Politburo.
