Live Undead is the first live album by the thrash metal band Slayer .
Emergence
The album was made during the tour for the EP Haunting the Chapel . It was recorded in a room with only a few people in New York City . At times this was doubted and a studio was assumed as the recording location. When asked whether the viewers were fake, producer Bill Metoyer replied evasively: “I don't know if I should tell you.” (“I don't know if I should tell you.”) He drove continued: "Isn't that one of those great industry secrets? Let's just say that when you're doing a live record, you want live sound - even if perhaps the microphones didn't pick up the audience properly. "
reception
Allmusic's Ned Raggett gave 2.5 stars out of five. He wrote that Live Undead was "only really necessary for the hardcore fans, especially compared to Decade of Aggression " ("isn't really necessary except for the hardest of hardcore fans in the end, especially in comparison to Decade of Aggression ") .
