Lover is the seventh studio album by the American pop singer Taylor Swift . It was released on August 23, 2019 via Republic Records and Taylor Swift Productions.

A countdown on Swift's website to midnight April 26 served as the announcement for their single, “ Me! “Which she recorded with Brendon Urie .

On June 13, 2019, she announced the pre-single " You Need to Calm Down " and the new album on an Instagram live stream. "You Need to Calm Down" was released on June 14, 2019 as a lyric video. The official music video was released on June 17, 2019 .

The third single "Lover" was released on August 16, 2019 and with the release of the album, the music video was uploaded to YouTube as a premiere .

Cover design

The album cover was designed by the Colombian artist Valheria Rocha. It shows Swift on a background of pink clouds, above her head is the album title Lover in italic pink cursive. Swift is shown here in the portrait type of the chest piece, she is wearing a white T-shirt, her hair is open and the ends of the hair are dyed blue. The pink outline of a heart sticks around her right eye.
