Lucas Meister (born August 16, 1996 in Muttenz , Canton of Basel-Landschaft ) is a Swiss handball player . The circle runner currently plays for the German Bundesliga club GWD Minden .

Career

Meister started playing handball in the U-11 team of TV Muttenz. He then moved to TV Birsfelden and in 2013 to the Kadetten Schaffhausen, where he made his debut as a youth player in 2014 in the National League A. With the club he won three championships in a row from 2015 to 2017 and won the SHV Cup in 2016. For the 2019/20 season he moved to the Bundesliga for GWD Minden .

He played his first international match for the Swiss national team on November 5, 2015 in Hammamet, Tunisia, against Algeria . He has played a total of 50 international matches so far, scoring 131 goals.
