Lucy Gordon (born May 22, 1980 in Oxford , England , † May 20, 2009 in Paris ) was a British actress .

Life

Lucy Gordon, who spent part of her childhood in France and grew up bilingual , attended Oxford High School , a private school for girls , until 1997 . Then she wanted to study history and biology .

She made her debut in 2001 in the drama Perfume in a minor supporting role. In the adventure film The Four Feathers (2002) she was seen at the side of Heath Ledger and Kate Hudson as Isabelle, who is in love with Jack Durrance ( Wes Bentley ) . In the comedy L'auberge espagnole - Reunion in St. Petersburg (2005) she appeared on the side of Audrey Tautou .

Gordon played one of the bigger roles in the comedy Frost , which was released at the Slamdance Film Festival in January 2008 . After this festival screening, the critic of the magazine Variety counted her among those actresses who weren't stars, but would be good for Maxim magazine . In her last role, Lucy Gordon played the British singer and actress Jane Birkin in the film Gainsbourg - The Man Who Loved Women . The film premiered in February 2010 , and excerpts were shown at the Cannes Film Festival in 2009.

Lucy Gordon took her own life in her Paris apartment. Her friend, the cameraman Jérôme Alméras, found her dead there.
