Ludwig Ferdinand Philipp von Schlabrendorff (born October 24, 1808 in Prenzlau , † November 28, 1879 in Wünsdorf ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the 7th Infantry Brigade .

Life

Ludwig was the son of the Prussian captain August von Schlabrendorff (1772–1850) and his wife Wilhelmine, born von Bentivegni (1783–1831).

Military career

After visiting the cadet houses in Kulm and Berlin , Schlabrendorff was transferred to the Emperor Franz Guard Grenadier Regiment of the Prussian Army on April 5, 1826 as portepeef ensign. In mid-December 1827 he was promoted to aggregate second lieutenant and was ranks in mid-March 1830. From March 4, 1835 to June 9, 1842 he was employed as an adjutant of the II Battalion. He was promoted to prime lieutenant on April 13, 1844 and came on April 5, 1847 as a company commander in the combined guard reserve battalion. In the campaign against Denmark he fought near Schleswig , was promoted to captain on May 13, 1848 and returned to the Kaiser Franz Grenadier Regiment as a company commander. On November 14, 1854, he was promoted to major as second in command of the 1st Battalion in the 1st Guards Landwehr Regiment to Königsberg . This was followed on March 27, 1858 as a battalion commander in the 1st Infantry Regiment and in this capacity he rose to lieutenant colonel at the end of May 1859 . On May 8, 1860, Schlabrendorff was commanded with the leadership of the 3rd Combined Infantry Regiment, from which the 6th East Prussian Infantry Regiment No. 43 was formed on July 1, 1860 .

Schlabrendorff was given command of the regiment, rose to colonel on October 18, 1861 , and was appointed commander of the 7th Infantry Brigade in Bromberg on April 18, 1867 with a position à la suite . As major general, he led his brigade in the 1866 war against Austria in the battles of Gitschin and the Battle of Königgrätz . For his work he was awarded the Red Eagle II.
