history

Lugnian Dombrowka was mentioned for the first time as Dombrowka in 1588 in a document from the monastery in Czarnowanz . The name is derived from the Polish word dabrowa (dt. Oak forest) or deby (dt. Oaks).

A mill was mentioned in Lugnian Dombrowka in the 18th century. After the First Silesian War in 1742, Brinnitz and most of Silesia fell to Prussia . At the same time colonists, mostly from Bohemia and Moravia, settled the area, including the village of Lugnian Dombrowka.

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community Lugnian Dombrowka belonged from 1816 to the district of Opole in the administrative district of Opole . In 1830 the village had 36 farms. In 1833 the village was hit by an epidemic. A large part of the population died as a result of these.

In the middle of the 19th century the place was incorporated into Lugnian and received a new name: Lugnian Dombrowka. The place kept this name until 1936. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the first school was built in the village. This was built in the neo-Gothic style and, although greatly simplified, still exists today. Between 1936 and 1945 the village was named Lugendorf Eichen . When the Red Army marched into the village, several buildings were set on fire, including the neo-Gothic school building.

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Dąbrówka Łubniańska and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1946 740 people lived in the village, in 1960 again 749. In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Opolski . On April 30, 2010 the village was also given the official German place name Lugnian Dombrowka. Today around 580 people live in the village (as of 2014).
