The municipality Lugnian ( Polish Gmina Łubniany ) is a rural municipality in the powiat Opolski in the Polish Voivodeship Opole .
geography
Neighboring communities of the rural community are Groß Döbern in the west, Murow in the north, Groß Lassowitz in the northeast , Turawa in the west and the city of Opole (Oppeln) in the south .
There are larger forest areas in the municipality.
history
In 1945 the area came to Poland and the Gmina Łubniany was formed and became part of the Opole Voivodeship in 1950. The Gromada Łubniany existed from 1954 to 1972 . From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the smaller Opole Voivodeship .
On April 30, 2010, the places were also given official German place names.
politics
Community leader
The head of the municipal administration is the municipality leader. So far this has been Krystian Baldy from the German minority. The regular election in October 2018 led to the following result.
- Paweł Wąsiak (Election Committee “Time for Changes”) 55.6% of the vote
- Krystian Baldy ( Election Committee German Minority ) 44.4% of the vote
So Wąsiak was able to prevail against the previous incumbent Wróbel in the first ballot.
Municipal council
The municipal council consists of 15 members and is directly elected in single-person constituencies. The 2018 municipal council election led to the following result:
- Election Committee “Time for Changes” 46.9% of the vote, 6 seats
- Election Committee German Minority 41.2% of the votes, 7 seats
- Electoral Committee “Voluntary Fire Brigade and Solka Council of the Luboszyce Village” 8.6% of the vote, 1 seat
- Łubniany Electoral Committee 3.4% of the vote, 1 seat
