The Gmina Tułowice is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Opolski of the Opole Voivodeship in Poland . Your seat is the city of the same name ( German Tillowitz ) with about 4000 inhabitants, which became known as the center of ceramic and porcelain production.

The municipality is located in the Silesian Plain in the Opole region , only six kilometers from the city limits of the voivodeship capital Opole (Opole) . The most important body of water is the Ścinawa Niemodlińska (Steinau) . The Tułowice Forest comprises extensive forest areas.

Neighboring municipalities of Tułowice are Dąbrowa ( Dambrau ), Comprachtschütz / Komprachcice , Korfantów ( Friedland ), Łambinowice ( Lamsdorf ), Niemodlin ( Falkenberg ) and Proskau / Prószków .

history

The Gmina Tułowice was founded in 1945 after the Red Army took the place . From 1975 to 1998 the rural community was part of the smaller Opole Voivodeship .

On January 1st, 2018 Tułowice was granted city rights and the municipality got its current status.

Partner communities are Wendeburg in Lower Saxony and Bělá pod Pradědem in the Czech Republic.

The A4 motorway runs along the eastern border of the municipality . Voivodeship road DW405 between Niemodlin and Korfantów runs through the municipality and the main town .
