The municipality of Poppelau , in Polish Gmina Popielów , is a municipality in the powiat Opolski (district of Opole) in the Voivodeship of Opole (Opole) in Poland . The seat of the community is Poppelau . Stobrawski Park Krajobrazowy Nature Park occupies almost half of the area of the municipality .
history
Parts of today's municipality were in the Upper Silesian district of Opole and the Lower Silesian district of Brieg .
After the war, only a relatively small part of the local population was displaced, which means that a local population has survived in the community to this day.
On September 30, 2014, German place names were introduced in the community. Since the municipality is only partially inhabited by the German minority, only part of the municipality was given bilingual place names.
