Community leader
The head of the municipal administration is the municipality leader. For many years this was Jan Labus. The regular election in October 2018 brought the following result:
- Jan Labus (Jan Labus Election Committee) 59.1% of the vote
- Krzysztof Kleszcz (Electoral Committee Krzystof Kleszcz) 12.9% of the vote
- Józef Juros (independent) 11.9% of the vote
- Ryszard Gajda (Election Committee Ryszard Gajda) 9.8% of the vote
- Kewin Adamczyk ( Prawo i Sprawiedliwość ) 3.3% of the vote
- Aleksandra Bartnicka-Szewczyk (Election Committee Aleksandra Bartnicka-Szewczyk) 3.1% of the vote
Labus was thus re-elected in the first ballot. However, he died in November 2019, which meant that a new election was necessary in February 2020. This led to the following result:
- Mirosław Wieszołek (Election Committee “Together for Ozimek”) 57.5% of the vote
- Krzysztof Koźlik ( German Minority Election Committee ) 29.5% of the vote
- Joanna Bachłaj (independent) 9.9% of the vote
- Ryszard Gajda (Ryszard Gajda Electoral Committee) 3.2% of the vote
Wieszołek was thus elected as the new mayor in the first ballot.
