Antoniów ( German Antonia ) is a village in Upper Silesia . Antoniów is located in the municipality of Ozimek (Malapane) in the Powiat Opolski in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location

Antoniów is three kilometers northwest of the municipality of Ozimek ( Malapane ) and 18 kilometers east of the county seat and capital of the Voivodeship, Opole . The Mała Panew (Eng. Malapane ) flows east of the village . The place is southeast of the Turawa reservoir . The provincial road Droga wojewódzka 463 runs through the village .

history

The village was founded in 1781 on the order of Frederick the Great as a logging colony for the Malapane ironworks. 40 jobs with semi-detached houses for two families each were created. Initially, Köhlers were recruited from Nassau . Local workers from Upper Silesia were later settled. Maria Antonia of Bavaria was probably named after it .

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia which belonged rural community Antonia from 1816 to district Opole in the administrative district of Opole . In 1821 a Catholic school was founded, which was attended not only by students from Antonia but also by students from Schodnia. In 1845 there was a Catholic school and 54 other houses in the village. In the same year 358 people lived in Antonia, 37 of them Catholic and eight Jewish. In 1874 the administrative district of Malapane was founded, which consisted of the rural communities Antonia, Hüttendorf, Königlich Karmerau, Kreuzthal and Schodnia and the manor district of Malapane, Hüttenwerk. In 1865 the place had 40 colonists and 13 cottagers. In 1885 the place had 356 inhabitants.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 189 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 105 for Poland. Antonia stayed with the German Empire . 1933 lived in the place 937 inhabitants. On April 1, 1939, Antonia was incorporated into Malapane . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Opole .

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed Antoniów on June 28, 1948 . In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Opolski . In 2011, 1180 people lived in the village.
