Schodnia [ ˈsxɔdɲa ] ( German Schodnia , 1936–1945 Ostdorf OS) is a village in Upper Silesia . Schodnia is located in the urban and rural municipality of Ozimek (Malapane) in the Powiat Opolski (Opole district) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

Schodnia is two kilometers west of the municipality of Ozimek (Malapane) and 19 kilometers east of the district town and voivodeship capital Opole . Lake Turawa lies north of Szczedrzyk .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1485 as Wschodnia . In 1552 the place was mentioned as Wzchodina .

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia which belonged rural community Schodnia from 1816 to district Opole in the administrative district of Opole . In 1845 there were 120 houses in the village. In the same year 677 people lived in Schodnia, 55 of them Protestant and three Jewish. In 1865 the municipality of Schodnia, to which Alt Schodnia, Neu Schodnia, Piecuch and Niewa belonged, had eight farmers, seven half-farmers, nine gardeners, six farmhands and 104 local farmers. There were also two forest houses and two water mills. At this point in time, the residents of Krascheow were parish and the students were enrolled in Antonia. In 1874 the district of Malapane was founded, which consisted of the rural communities of Antonia, Hüttendorf, Königlich Karmerau, Kreuzthal and Schodnia and the manor district of Malapane. Around 1880 the Friedrichsgrätz district was dissolved and Münchhausen was assigned to the Krascheow district.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 554 eligible voters in the community of Schodnia voted to remain in Germany and 420 to belong to Poland. Alt Schodnia remained with the German Empire . In 1925 the place had 1,527 inhabitants. In 1933 there were 1284 inhabitants. In 1936 the community Schodnia was renamed Ostdorf OS . On April 1, 1939, Ostdorf was incorporated into Malapane. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Opole .

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed Schodnia again. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship and since 1999 it has belonged to the re-established Powiat Opolski . In 2005 the place had about 840 inhabitants.
